Shiksha Diksha Guru
Diksha guru is the one who teaches us ‘Sambandh gyan’ which means the transcendental knowledge about the following aspects:
- Who am I?
- What is this nature or Prakriti?
- Who is the controller of both?
- What is the relationship between me, nature and the controller?
It is the diksha guru who actually initiates us into spiritual life and frees us from the cycle of birth and death.
Therefore, first Diksha guru gives the knowledge of ‘sambandh gyan’ and then the siksha guru gives the knowledge of ‘abidhey’ or devotion- actual engagement in the service of the Lord and sees all your activities.
Many a times, the Diksha guru may not be physically present to guide the devotees, it is then when a senior devotee may be considered as a Siksha guru who accepts to guide the devotees in a daily basis on the path of devotion. The devotees perform any act of devotional service only after taking the consultation of the Siksha guru. The Diksha guru for our organization is Srila Prabhupada, and he mentions in Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita that the Diksha guru and the Siksha Guru should be given the same respect and reverence. The Diksha guru for Gauranga Insititute for Vedic Education is His Divine Grace A.C Bhakti Vedanta Swami Thakur Srila Prabhupada, and the Siksha Guru is Sri Vrindavan Chandra Dasji who is the disciple of Srila Prabhupada.
